If you’ve visited Cruces Creatives recently, you’ve probably noticed plenty of activity in our classes, workshops, and community spaces. Behind the scenes, we’ve been just as busy!
Last year, we shared honesty about the challenges facing CC. Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, partner groups, members, and friends, we’ve been able to find our financial footing. However, the work to build a truly sustainable future continues.
Over the past several months, the Cruces Creatives team has been hard at work, strengthening the organization in ways that will support our mission for years to come. We’ve expanded programming, welcomed new members, invested in our staff, grown our volunteer base, and built new systems to ensure our makerspace will continue to provide resources and education to the community we’ve come to love.
A few highlights from 2026 so far:

More than 390 classes, workshops, and events serving makers of all skill levels

Over 700 individual learning sessions that helped community members build skills, grow confidence, and make new friends

More than 160 students at 10 locations received hands-on, multi-month, STEAM learning across the county through partnerships with local education organizations and initiatives

227 young makers participated in our Summer Camp program

More than 110 new members joined our community, bringing active membership to over 400

Nearly 30 volunteers contributed hundreds of hours to help make everything we do possible
These numbers are so much more than statistics. Each one represents a new friendship, a new skill, an idea made into reality, and a vibrant community of makers, artists, crafters, inventors, and tinkerers who believe that creativity belongs to everyone.
We are excited to see what’s ahead for the makerspace, and are deeply grateful for everyone who continues to make Cruces Creatives such a welcoming place to learn, create, and belong. Thank you so much for being part of our community.
