Cruces Creatives is a non-profit makerspace committed to fostering economic development, furthering education, supporting the arts, protecting the environment, strengthening social connections, and advancing science and technology throughout New Mexico by connecting people with the tools, training, and community to make practically anything.

Cruces Creatives also works to expand the charitable potential of community makerspaces by adding three core goals to the basic makerspace approach of sharing tools, training, and community:

• Celebrating and supporting all forms of human creativity, using the broadest possible definition of “making.” Cruces Creatives supports woodworkers and engineers; it also supports dance troupes and creative writers. To make is human, and the types of making are wonderfully diverse.
• Maximizing accessibility. Through volunteering, grant support, and the use of donated or recycled materials, most Cruces Creatives classes and workshops are free. People can become members of Cruces Creatives (gaining ongoing access to the space, community, and tools) by contributing either talents (through 3 hours of volunteering weekly in a task of their choosing) or financial support (between $9 and $35 per person, per month).
• Using the tools, people, and infrastructure brought together through the makerspace to launch interdisciplinary charitable projects, responding to needs in our city and state.
