After working together to build this Superadobe (earthbag) wall from the ground up, we’re now moving into the next phase—plastering.
Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll bring the wall to life with natural finishes while learning the fundamentals of earthen building. Join us for a hands-on introduction to earthen building as we focus on plastering a Superadobe wall from start to finish.
This workshop will cover the fundamentals of working with natural plasters, including how to choose the right materials, proper mixing techniques, and best practices for application.
Participants will get direct, hands-on experience shaping an earthen wall, attaching wire mesh for reinforcement, and applying both scratch and finish coats of plaster. Along the way, we will talk through the “why” behind each step so you leave with practical skills you can apply to your own projects.
OG Farms will also be hosting a full morning of workshops before the Superadobe session, starting at 9am:
- 9am – Farm Intro: Closed-loop farming systems
- 10am – Farm tech: sensors + environmental monitoring
- 11am – Superadobe plastering workshop (this session)
- 2-3pm – Eco-versity video session: Edible Landscapes
Folks are welcome to come early, spend the whole day on the farm, and join in for any (or all) of the workshops leading up to the Superadobe build.
