Sewing machine experience is required for this class.
Students will spend the week making a lined bag with interior zipper pockets, outer embellishments and adjustable strap.
Skills learned:
How to use the zipper foot
Sizing metal tooth zippers
Installation of bag hardware
Sewing straps
Techniques for using trim (piping, ric rac, bias tape, etc.)
Use of the walking foot
Small quilting techniques
Using specialty threads
All materials are provided.
-Please note, this camp is free for students attending a title one school. Title one schools include ALL Las Cruces Public Schools, plus a few charter schools. If you have questions about if your school is included in Title one, see more information at the end of this post.

Thanks to Funding from the City of Las Cruces and the American Rescue Plan Act we are able to offer these camps free of cost to all Title One students who attend schools in Las Cruces.
