Students who wish to participate in this class must have sewing machine experience. Some garment construction is preferable.
Participants in this class will experiment with color block work to create a bespoke pattern for their own t-shirt. Using a basic t-shirt pattern, students will learn how break the basic block into units for inventive use of color and learn how this style of garment construction supports sustainable fashion by making use of fabric pieces that would otherwise be too small.
As it is unlikely that students will be able to complete their shirt in one session, it is highly recommended that students also enroll in class on Oct. 15 and 17 as well.
