A two-week workshop showing the youth and young adults how to create a movie short
from start to finish. All instructed by a professional filmmaker from New Mexico who
moved to Hollywood, CA to learn and is now back home to share his knowledge to our
growing youth.
Workshops will consist of:
Storytelling/creative writing
How to turn a story into a movie script
Fundamentals of camera and settings to film
Lighting
Set designing
Set dressing
Wardrobe
Makeup
hair
Pre-production
Post production
Special FX Make-Up
This Workshop, students will construct a story and go through the process of creating a
5minute to 10 minute movie short. With-in the two weeks the students will have been
able to go through a crash course in learning how to create a film from start to finish.
Please note this is a two week camp, and having students attend all days of camp is crucial to their learning experience. If your student will be unable to attend all days of camp please let us know.
Please make sure students come to camp wearing close toed shoes and ready to work.
Please bring a water bottle with you, Snack will be available for purchase.
Thanks to Funding from the City of Las Cruces and the American Rescue Plan Act we are able to offer these camps free of cost to all Title One students who attend schools in Las Cruces. These schools include all of the Las Cruces Public Schools, White Sands Schools, Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy, Arrowhead Park, Alma d'Arte, J Paul Taylor Academy, La Academia Dolores Huerta, Los Montanas, New America, Raices Del Saber.
