Skill developed in this class will include:

  • How to thread the sewing machine and bobbin

  • Use of the backstitch function

  • Use of a seam gauge

  • How to properly press seams

  • Where to look for accurate seam allowances

  • How and where to use decorative stitches

  • Topstitching techniques

All materials will be provided.

Students should be at least 11 years old and need to be attending a Title 1 school in Las Cruces to qualify. Adults who are interested in attending with their students may also enroll. Separate enrollments are necessary for each participant.

These classes are very popular, if you are unable to attend after registering, please inform Sandy so she can open the spot to someone on the waitlist! She can be reached at s.smith@crucescreatives.org
