Deep Paper Cut: Second Annual Zine Show

This is the second group exhibition of zines from artists both local and national at Cruces Creatives, celebrating the form of the zine and the odd, fun, interesting, beautiful or even bizarre things that might fill them.

A zine is basically a booklet or multi-page object featuring visual and/or literary/poetic art. It tends to exhibit a DIY spirit, tends to exhibit qualities of spontaneity, especially in some of its original history among marginal or punk sub-cultural spaces. But it is exactly because of that spirit and that origin that the form of a zine cannot be pinned down precisely.

This exhibit features many artists with many visions and forms of zine, taking an expansive approach to the form and celebrating the possibilities within.
