Come make the cutest little valentine delivery bug with us! Students will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine while sewing this cute little bug which has pockets just right for hiding love notes. 

Students should be at least 11 years old and need to be attending an LCPS school.  Adults who are interested in attending with their LCPS student may also enroll. Separate enrollments are necessary for each participant.

While previous use of a sewing machine is helpful, it is not required for this class. All materials will be provided.

Skills developed in this class will include:

• How to properly thread the sewing machine

• Use of straight, zig zag, and decorative stitches

• Use of basting stitches

• Sewing seams on a round form

• Sewing buttons on

• How to catch legs in the seams so they extend correctly once the softie is turned right side out

• Clipping curves to remove bulk in seams when turning right side out

• Use of the ladder stitch to close stuffed figures

• How to stitch an even seam allowance

• How to use the seam ripper
