LCPS and Title 1 school* students may invite their special adult to join them in class. This is a great opportunity for everyone to learn how to operate the sewing machine and use some basic hand stitches to make new friends!
Skills focus for this class:
Seam allowance accuracy
Stitching concave and convex curves
Clipping seams
Machine applique basics
Short cuts for ripping out stitches
Hand sewing buttons
Using safety eyes
Stuffing techniques
Running stitch and Ladder stitch (a hand stitch used for closing stuffies)
Sewing machines and materials will be provided.
Students should be at least 9 years old.
Class size is limited to 6 students. (Please sign up for class even if it is full as there is a waitlist and we will be able to contact you in the event of an opening.) Each participant will need a separate registration. Registration for youth sewists is not considered complete without the student ID number.
Please wear closed toe shoes.
