Ms. Sandy and Ms. Yolanda will be on hand to help you get it done.
Students are strongly encouraged to come with an idea of what they would like to sew. The computer program used for plotting patterns from body measurements will be available if students would like to create a simple top to go with the pants they made in their last class.
Quilt weight cotton (the same fabric we used in our previous classes) will be available. If students need specialty fabrics, they may need to purchase materials independently. Please get in touch with us at STEAM@CrucesCreatives.org or (575) 489-6450 for any clarifications.
Students must have taken STEAMM Sewing in the summer or Fall semesters. Exceptions may be made on case-by-case basis.
Each Open Sew session is a separate event. If your project is likely to take more than one class period, sign up for additional sessions.
Class is intended for 4th-6th grade students.
Classes meet in person and are limited to 6 students per session. Students will be required to wear masks. We ask that adults be prompt picking up students so we can avoid congestion and maintain the limit of persons in the building.
These sessions are free due to the generous support of NMSU STEM Outreach.
