Each kit contains Hopi Red Amaranth seed which is both edible and an excellent natural dye. We have included lengths of prepared wool yarn for you to test solar dyeing with the plants you have grown yourself.

For those who live where there is planting space, we have instructions for the traditional practices of planting in a sunken bed! While amaranth will grow in a pot, it is happiest planted directly in the ground.
