Beginning Knitting 3: Knitting in the Round

Knitting in the round refers to knitting that conforms to a shape without seaming. This third class in the beginning knitting series focuses on using circular and double-pointed needles to knit a hat and matching cowl.

Skills learned during class will include casting on for circular and double pointed needles. Garter stitch, stockinette stitch and ribbing knit in the round.

Participants need to have attended Knitting for the Absolute Beginner OR be comfortable with casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch and binding off.

Please bring a skein of worsted weight yarn. The sample hat and cowl required approximately 400 yards, please check your yarn label to ensure you have sufficient yarn to complete your project. Also bring a 16" size 7 or 8 circular needle and a set of size 6 or size 7 double point needles.

Sara Jones is the Textile Lab Lead for Cruces Creatives. She has been an avid knitter since 2001.

Payment is due at registration (online registration requires payment within 15 minutes in order to reserve space in the class). Cancellations are only available until 48 hours before class. Refunds are only available if class is properly cancelled.
