This class, What the Heck is a 3D Printer 101, is the first in a three-part series on how to use 3D printers and the nature of 3D-printed things.

Through presentation, discussion, and demonstration, this class covers

  • information about the printing process--how to acquire things, how to slice things, how to print things, how to finish things, and how to utilize things,
  • an overview of the technology's history,
  • the philosophies and legal issues related to 3D printing and files (for information, not as legal advice), and advice for safety and sanity,
  • and the concept of 3D printing, the types of 3D printers.
