Intro to NRCS: Environmental Quality Incentives Program

In this free workshop series, learn how to apply for Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). This funding helps farmers and ranchers pay for agricultural practices that protect natural resources, practices such as cover crops, managed grazing, reduced tillage, specialized irrigation systems, and many more.

1. A link to a videorecorded introduction to EQIP, presented by personnel from the Doña Ana Farm Service Agency Office. Learn about what the program is, what it funds, and how to apply.
2. A step-by-step booklet for how to apply for EQIP in Doña Ana County.
3. Links to two free follow-up workshops (evenings of March 16 and April 15, 2021) where you can get help with your application from Farm Service Agency staff, grant writers, and other local producers who have been funded through EQIP.

These workshops are funded through a Conservation Technical Assistance Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and they are offered through a partnership including the Doña Ana Soil and Water Conservation District, Cruces Creatives, Backyard Farms, New Mexico Hay & Livestock Company, and NMCO Media.
