Appropriate for children in grades 3-6.

This class is loosely based on Pandia Press Life Sciences (a secular science) but modified for the upper grade levels. The biology section is presented within the context of evolution and adaptations and the entire class consists of hands-on projects (such as building model planet earths), videos, readings, and weekly presentations by the students.

Classes are taught based on the level of the kids and by input from parents; parents of younger kids may need to guide their children though some of the projects. This is not a drop-off class and homework is assigned.

Class size is limited to 4 additional kids (6 total). Costs for projects average less than $5 per week, depending on what materials parents have available.

Non-members of Cruces Creatives are asked to make a donation to the space.

Jill Silver has been teaching homeschool for the past 12 years. As of this fall is a part-time instructor at Doña Ana Community College. Degree in mathematics.

Philosophy – believes that kids learn best when they are active in learning so her classes focus on hands on projects.
