3D printing in general has the potential to be a disruptive technology; by combining multiple conceptual elements of manufacturing, design, and material-science, 3d printers allow for bespoke and ad-hoc manufacturing on a desktop scale.

An introductory level class on 3d printing. Basics of machine operation, software, and associated medias. Demonstrations of techniques, general knowledge, insight and tips from a self-proclaimed expert.

This class will focus primarily on the skill of 3d printing, and not the design of 3d media. 

Events must be paid for online and within 15 minutes to save the seat.

>History, concepts, and types of 3D printers

>3D file format concepts

>Introduction to slicer software

>In-depth function and purpose of slicer, application for prints

>Basic machine parts, functions, and calibrations

>Bed adhesion, Retraction, and other tricks

Reese Luckie is the resident 3d printing guru at Cruces Creatives, as well as the main proprietor of Panders Prints, a full service 3d printing shop based in Las Cruces, NM

What to bring:

a laptop computer if available, 8 gig USB jump drive
