Cruces Creatives in partnership with Mesa (Meetings for Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture)
is now accepting exhibition/installation proposals to create and present thematic work for Art, Agriculture, and the Environment. The exhibition will focus on local artists and our farming communities and will celebrate and highlight sustainable farming and the environment. We are looking for work that is aesthetically engaging, insightful, and challenging. Work should consider local farming practices and highlight an emotional connection to the environment.
Autumn exhibition at Cruces Creatives: September 6-October 9, 2019

Prospectus: Cruces Creatives invites proposals from local artists, (within the designated area*) that explore Art, Agriculture, and the Environment. All media are welcomed and include installations, sculpture, video, photography, paintings, mixed media, community based projects, performances, and murals. Some funding can be made available for materials and installation. Costs must be detailed within the proposal to be considered.
Eligibility: Art, Agriculture and the Environment is open to local artists* over the age of 18, including amateurs, professionals and students.
Media: All media is welcome: traditional and non-traditional, murals, mixed media, paintings, drawings, printmaking, video, photography, sculpture, installation, collage, ceramics, performance, solo or group, community based, etc. All work must relate to the themes described above.
Jury: Submitted works will be reviewed by a Cruces Creatives committee comprised of three local art professionals.
Delivery, Shipping and Installation: All work accepted into the exhibition must arrive on time and be ready to install. Artists will have 2 weeks for the installation process. Some funding will be made available to support large scale works, or for transportation. The exact price must be included in the proposal. Works not gallery-ready, or not exhibiting good craftsmanship may be omitted from the exhibit. Accepted works that do not match the proposals will be disqualified. Professional-level presentation is a must. Artists will be responsible for the delivery, installation and de-installation. Accepted works will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Unclaimed work after 30 days will be considered abandoned and will become property of Cruces Creatives.
Insurance: There is general liability insurance.
Sale of Work: All work will be available for sale during the exhibit unless otherwise indicated as ‘not for sale’ (NFS). Cruces Creatives will retain a commission of 20% on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

Installation begins Aug 23, 2019
Opening reception, Sept 6, 2019
Closing date, October 19, 2019
All work de-installed and picked up by October 29, 2019
SUBMISSION DETAILS
Registration is free and artists may submit up to 3 Images. Proposals should be fully rendered, detailed in size, space dimensions, and cost of materials or installations should be exact, no price estimations. Artist must be local, or have recently lived in the area as shown in the map below.
How to submit:

Subject "Mesa Art Show Open Call Submission"
Include the following information in PDF format no greater than 10MB:
- Name, contact information, address
- Artist bio, less than 500 words
- Artist Statement, less than 500 words
- Title, medium, year, dimensions, sale price or NFS
- For art proposals, include a detailed materials list with exact cost of materials, and a fully rendered image or sketch of work.
- Up to three images in JPEG or PDF format @ 1500 DPI. Each file must be 3MB or less.
- For 3D images, please include side and back views, this will not be included as part of the 3 submissions.
* Local artists from the designated areas on map.
