Rio Sangre Art Collective Pop-up shop
Join us Friday January 4th from 5pm-8:30pm for an evening of poetry, live music, and sculptures by local artist and NMSU student RV Madrigal. The Rio Sangre Art Collective will have a pop-up shop featuring various local artists with paintings, drawings, prints and apparel.
She Likes Pink Things is an abstract art exhibition that explores the phases of experience and aesthetics in a queer woman's journey. The artist exemplifies the dichotomy of pleasure that comes from self-exploration that is inevitably coupled with pain. Her paintings and sculptures consist of hair from wigs and extensions, cotton from old pillows, and vernacular accumulated materials. In this shows, you will see the raw, unfiltered and funny phases of the woman who likes pink things.
RV Madrigal is an artist currently in her last year of getting a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Primarily, she practices soft sculpture and installation but also works with the mediums drawing, painting, mold making, photography, and jewelry. Her art conceptually addresses topics of family, identity, tradition, and queerness. Her work dealing with these tops has been shown in local art galleries, the Las Cruces Museum of Art and the University Art Gallery.
Rio Sangre Print Collective is a group of artists and illustrators from Las Cruces/El Paso who specialize in graphic Tee-shirts and art prints.
