Saturday Figure - drawing/painting model sessions

Each week artists gather for a model drawing and painting session at Cruces Creatives. Artist are invited to work in oil paints, water color, graphite and charcoal from live models. These fine art sessions are suited for artists of all skill levels.

Join us Saturdays from 10AM-1230PM to draw and paint the figure from life. Poses last for for the entire 2.5 hour period. This gives artists a chance to complete a oil painting or more in-depth drawing. This pose will last 4 sessions and is currently limited to 10 people.  Because the pose carries over, participants have the option to reserve a spot from week to week to insure that they can continue the drawing or painting they were working on the week prior.  To reserve your spot purchase all sessions in advance.  The remaining spots will be available to drop ins.

Materials: Easels, drawing boards, and a space to store their work from week to week will be provided. Artists are responsible for bringing their own drawing and painting materials each week.  (If you own an easel we recommend bringing it as well.)  All drawing and painting media are welcome, with the exception of toxic mediums such as odorless mineral spirits.

Ages: 18-up Models will be nude and sessions will be closed to the public.

$10.00 per session for all four sessions, package deal total $40.00.

$15.00 for individual sessions or drop-inns.

This is not a class or workshop, however some guidance and critique is included if so desired. (Instruction will be available if needed at an additional cost of $20/hr.)

About the instructor: Felicia Castro is a Las Cruces-based artist whose work has been exhibited throughout the Southwest. She has a BFA is studio arts from NMSU and studied classical realism at Hawaii Atelier and figure drawing at NMSU.
