Alla Jakson, a Las Cruces violinist originally from Ukraine, will share a mix of classical compositions and traditional Ukrainian melodies. Alla will also share with us several videos which show how the war on Ukraine has disrupted the life of her family and the wider Ukrainian community. The concert will raise funds for 13 of her family members who are war refugees in Poland.

This event is part of the "Songs, Stories, and Social Good" performance series, hosted in cooperation between Cruces Creatives, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces, and other local partners. The mission of the performance series is to have each performance both support the arts in Las Cruces (by bringing global performers to the city or by showcasing local talent) and serve a “social good” theme that advances other charitable missions. The social good theme for this event is fundraising for war refugees.

Tickets are on a pay-what-you-can scale, with suggested donations between  $15 and $25. Online tickets are available at $15, $20, or $25; other pay-what-you-can prices can be paid at the door.
