Help make doghouses for dogs adopted through the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley!
In a team effort, participants in this workshop will use hand tools to turn pallet wood and reclaimed lumber into canine casas. Completed doghouses will be donated to the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley, which offers pet adoptions at the Saturday Farmers’ Market.
To participate, please be ready to do at least one of the following processes:
- Dismantle wooden pallets
- Measure pieces
- Pencil in cut-lines
- Saw on lines
- Plan a design
- Assemble pieces (hold pieces in place, drill holes, screw pieces together)
- Paint or stain
Registration is by supply donation. Please bring either sandpaper, screws, nails, stain, or paint.
Ages: 18 and older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian
What to wear/bring:
- Wear sturdy shoes and clothing. Bring warm clothing for optional outdoor work in the breezeway and for the Saturday delivery.
- Gloves and goggles are available, but if you’d like your own, please bring them.
Maximum Number of Participants: 8
Cost: Supply donation. Please bring either sandpaper, screws, nails, stain, or paint.
